About the project
Our task was to create a marketplace with unique vintage furniture and arts and crafts from the 20th century. This platform offers not only a wide selection of unique products, but also an extensive panel for interior designers and vendors. As part of the panel, we implemented a feature that allows architects to create collections that they can then pass on to their clients, making it easier for them to showcase and sell the selected items.
In addition, the marketplace has advanced product filtering options. Users can search for furniture and arts and crafts according to various criteria such as materials, colours, fabrics, style and dimensions. This makes the process of finding suitable vintage products much simpler and more precise.
Side technologies
During our work, we went through various stages of the project. We started by conducting a workshop after the creation process, developed the data architecture and module variants. We completed the process with the implementation and publication of the website.
Challenges
- Building a high-performance, lightning-fast platform
- Importing products from multiple suppliers
- Providing third-party sellers with access to modify their products and view sales
- Demanding graphic design and a client with a high sense of aesthetics
Solutions
- We combined the popular WooCommerce engine with a modern front-end application based on React and Next.js
- We have prepared a script and a matrix in CSV format for the comprehensive import of products
- The vendor panel allows you to manage the products of a given vendor, calculate commission and account for the products sold. Vendor changes require the authorisation of the administrator.
- Graphic design, taking care of the smallest details and animations
Process
Workshop
Analysis of the project's main objectives, design analysis, breakdown into modules, selection of technologies and environments.
Programming
Implementation of modules based on designs, integration into the CMS, implementation of planned functions and optimisation.
Publication
Preparation, delivery and maintenance of working and production environments. Ensuring effective management of processes and updates.
Maintenance
Ongoing support, monitoring and development of the solution, including the introduction of new functionalities and improvements.
Minimalist and at the same time stunning design. Although it seems simple to implement, when it comes to projects like this, the details and their refinement make the final feel.
The product list focuses on a clear presentation of the offer. However, there is no lack of extensive filters and an intuitive search engine.
The Marketplace is based on the popular WooCommerce sales tool. In addition, the use of headless technology provides the flexibility to customise the front-end, allowing for easy scaling while maintaining the consistency and performance of the platform.
